Sheila Collins- Woodworking Instructor

Meet Our Instructors

Sheila

Growing up on a self-sufficient dairy farm with a father that enjoyed woodworking and stocked his shop almost entirely with equipment that he built from scratch provided a great base for a can do attitude. I have been a woodworker my entire life. My favorites are woodturning and box making. Taking raw logs or scraps of lumber and watching a bowl or finished box emerge is like opening a Christmas present every day. I aIso do custom work out of my shop that can range from furniture, to remaking a lost final for something that grandpa made to repairing a dog chewed hope chest.

I teach Carving, Box Making, Scroll Saw, Woodburning and Woodturning classes at the Woodcraft store in Franklin. I also enjoy cooking, crocheting and drawing. Our grandchildren love coming over to granny’s to make stuff!
